More than 1,500 people in need, especially men and women, received income generation kits as part of the productive social action program. The beneficiaries are from the Quelimane district. The initiative will be replicated in other districts. These are people in need, who, with the kits they received, can set their families’ lives on a path to prosperity. Each of these beneficiaries had the opportunity to choose a kit to develop their business. The delegate from the Institute of Social Action (INAS) of Zambézia, Luís Amoda, informed that the delivery of the kits, which range from bicycles, food products among others , was made possible thanks to the productive social action program.”These beneficiaries carried out work in their communities, which included building roads, cleaning hospitals and schools. Once the program was completed, as it was conceived, each person involved in the cleaning should benefit from support to guarantee their livelihood. This is how it happened and each person chose what was good to start their business”, said Luís Amoda.Francisco Pagula, administrator of Quelimane, made it known that he has no doubt that, with the kits delivered, the beneficiary population has taken a step towards improving their incomes, for the good of their families. The Secretary of State, Cristina Mafumo, says she was impressed with the type of kits that each person received, within the scope of the productive social action program. Mafumo explained that, at some point, she even asked the INAS delegate how, for example, one of the beneficiary ladies received three bicycles. “The beneficiary chose the bicycles within the budgeted amount that was allocated to her. I went to talk to the beneficiary to find out what she was going to do with the funds. She informed me that one of the bicycles is for going to the farm, the other is for the children to take to school, as they study far from home”, said Cristina Mafumo, adding that this fact pleases her, as it is clear that, in the end, the beneficiary and her family change their lives. The beneficiaries are satisfied with the kits, as they will improve their lives and those of their families. They say that what they received is the fruit of their work and, therefore, they hope that the initiative is here to stay. According to the authorities, the initiative will expand to other districts in the province of Zambézia. Source: O País
