The President of Angola, João Lourenço, is visiting Mozambique next March, at the invitation of his Mozambican counterpart Filipe Nyusi. The announcement was made in Luanda, as part of a week-long visit by the President of the Assembly of the Republic (PAR), Esperança Bias, to that African country. In the Angolan capital, she was received, at the courtesy meeting, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. On the occasion, Esperança Bias reiterated President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi’s invitation addressed to the Angolan Head of State to visit Mozambique next March. The President of the Mozambican Parliament referred, during the audience, to the objectives of her visit to Angola, at the invitation of her counterpart, Carolina Cerqueira, with regard to strengthening the historical relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation existing between the two countries and parliaments. Bias thanked the multiform support that the Republic of Angola has been granting Mozambique in the context of the fight against terrorism and the COVID 19 pandemic, as well as in Mozambique’s candidacy for non-permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council.
