A new record of deaths by Covid-19 was registered, this Wednesday, in the Republic of Mozambique, with the announcement of 32 fatalities in just 24 hours. The number causes the country to have 1,190 deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic. According to health authorities, 20 people lost their lives in Maputo city, six in Maputo province and three in Inhambane. Sofala, Manica, Tete and Niassa provinces each registered one death. Of the perished, 17 were male and 15 were female, with ages ranging between 10 and 59 years. In addition to the new record of fatalities, the country reported another 1,704 new infections, of which 1,111 in the country’s capital. Maputo province registered 161, Niassa 114, Inhambane 129, Tete 73, Sofala 54, Zambézia, Nampula 13, Cabo de Delgado and Manica three each and Gaza two cases. Thus, the country has 103,713 diagnosed cases since March 2020.   Health authorities also announced the hospitalization of another 82 people, against 53 who were discharged, so that 494 patients are still hospitalized, of which 345 are in the city of Maputo . However, an additional 1,721 citizens recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total recoveries from Covid-19 to 180,058 (77.2 percent).
